Home Lifts & Stairlifts

Compact lifts and stairlifts for private homes, sized to existing structure with minimal building work.

In a private home the constraint is almost never the lift. It is the staircase that already exists, the floor that cannot be cut, and the ceiling height you have to live with. Bronze Lift approaches home lifts and stairlifts as a retrofit problem: what fits, with how much building work, and at what travel.

Working inside an existing structure

A compact machine-room-less arrangement removes the need for a separate machine room, and a shallow pit keeps excavation to a minimum. Where a shaft is genuinely impossible, a stairlift follows the existing flight instead, including curved runs. The decision between the two is a measurement exercise, not a preference, and it is the first thing we do.

What we look at

  • Available footprint and ceiling height at each landing, which set the cabin size and the usable travel.
  • Pit depth and headroom that the structure allows without major works.
  • Number of stops and the door side at each one.
  • Power supply available in the house, and whether standby operation is required during an outage.
  • Finishes, since a home lift sits in a living space rather than a service core.

Getting a straight answer

Send photographs and rough dimensions of the stairwell or the intended shaft. We will tell you which of the two solutions your house actually supports, what building work it implies, and what it does not — before any drawing is produced.
